Intellectual/Academic Giftedness

Students with intellectual giftedness generally demonstrate strong verbal and nonverbal reasoning abilities, abstract reasoning skills, processing speed, and memory. Academically gifted students show enthusiasm for specific interest areas and display advanced comprehension in those areas. Psychological testing can identify students’ unique strengths and provide personally tailored recommendations for their educational and social-emotional needs. Testing can also determine eligibility for specialized schools and academic programs.

Learning Difficulties

Learning disabilities are disorders that affect the ability to understand or use spoken or written language and perform mathematical calculation. Psychological testing can help identify students with learning disorders and provide recommendations tailored to address their individual learning needs.

Developmental Disorders

Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions that cause impairments in physical, learning, language, or behavior. These conditions typically begin during the developmental period, may impact day-to-day functioning, and can last throughout a person's lifetime.

Autism Spectrum Disorder

Autism Spectrum Disorder is a neurodevelopmental difference that can cause issues with social communication and interaction, and restricted or repetitive behaviors or interests. People with autism may also have different ways of learning, moving, and paying attention. These characteristics can make it very challenging to navigate the world. Psychological testing can identify people with autism and provide valuable resources and recommendations.

Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder

ADHD is one of the most common neurodevelopmental disorders of childhood. It is usually first diagnosed in childhood and often lasts into adulthood. People with ADHD may have trouble paying attention, controlling impulsive behaviors (may act without thinking), or be overly active. Psychological testing can be helpful in assessing for ADHD symptoms and providing treatment and educational recommendations.

Mental Health Disorders

Mental health disorders are classified as a wide range of mental health conditions that affect thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This can include depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, eating disorders and substance dependence. Therapy can be a helpful tool in treating a variety of mental health concerns, navigating life’s difficulties, better understanding oneself, and making positive changes.
